What an incredible cigar! If I’m honest, many of Cavalier’s recent offerings have been a miss for me, but this is a special cigar. The 6 ¼ x 52 Toro Extra starts with soft cedar and heavy cream as the primary flavors. There is also faint light caramel sweetness on the palate.

The second third ramps up in body and strength but not past medium-medium plus. The retrohale offers hazelnut, apricot, with hints of cardamom and Ceylon cinnamon. Hints of pepper also emerge.

The natural caramel sweetness and soft cedar return in the final third. There are also hints of toasted white oak on the palate. There is more pepper on the retrohale in the final third but nothing overwhelming.

When I read the blend details of this cigar, I was leery. A 10-tobacco blend with 4 types of ligero?! I am certainly glad I took the leap. This is a top 3 cigar for me in 2026, and I can’t wait to try the Oscuro. Kudos, Sebastien!
