The Sultans of Smoke is a great cigar podcast and review website hosted by a pair of cigar smoking buddies, Drew and Mo. The two had always joked about making their own line of cigars, knowing that it was pretty much a dream. Well, dreams sometimes do come true. One day they were presented with the opportunity to work with a small factory in Nicaragua. The result is a pair of blends, one named the Max Press Maduro and the other simply Legacy.
The Max Press Maduro is a box pressed toro made with Nicaraguan tobaccos and finished with a dark, silky Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper leaf. It's a great blend that pushes up to the full bodied range and delivers a nice hint of sweetness on top of the earthy, leathery profile.
Something more on the medium-to-full bodied side is their Legacy. This blend has a bit more spice than the Max Press. The filler is Nicaraguan and the binder is Ecuadorian. They used an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf to bring out some extra spice and add a little extra strength.
