The Ligero grade of leaf is the highest on the tobacco plant and known for its strength and complexity. On a small number of plants, two additional tobacco leaves grow above Ligero. These are called "Medio Tempo."
La Gloria Cubana Medio Tempo uses this rare leaf in the center of each cigar, resulting in a unique blend that is loaded with flavor and complexity in a medium-to-full smoke. The Medio Tiempo that's in the filler is an Ecuadorian Habano grown in the Connecticut River Valley. The filler also consists of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. They incorporated a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf to add extra complexity to the blend.
