La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel Maduro
"With its black, wedge-shaped head, nothing in the cigar world looks quite like a Chisel Maduro. Its creation goes back to one day when La Flor's Litto Gomez was driving from Santiago to La Canela in the Dominican Republic, chewing on a torpedo as he was deep in thought. By the time he reached his destionation, the torpedo head had been flattened. Taken with the new shape, Gomez came up with the Chisel, a figurado with a head that looks like a hand tool or a woodwind instrument. The natural version is powerful, but this 6-inch x 54-ring leathery Maduro is sneaky strong--you don't feel the power until it's upon you. Litto Gomez of La Flor Dominicana just announced a special Limited Release cigar due out in mid-November. The La Flor Dominicana 2007 Limited Release Factory Press II is the same size as the original Factory Press II (6 1/4 x 54), however the blend has been changed. This Limited Release Factory Press II will have Dominican filler from Litto's farm in La Canela, the binder will be Nicaraguan instead of the Sumatra on the original Factory Press II. The wrapper is a beautiful Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro as opposed to the Nicaraguan Oscuro Litto uses on the original Factory Press II.
The La Flor Dominicana 2007 Limited Release Factory Press II comes boxed in a factory press of 12 cigars. Litto only made 1500 boxes of these Limited Release cigars. They are due to start shipping in mid-November.

 We have small amounts of La Flor Dominicana Culebra cigars trickling in. We now have a few La Flor Dominicana Culebra Especial Maduros in the shop right now. There are three versions of Culebra cigars from La Flor Dominicana.
Finally, the La Flor Dominicana Culebra Gorda is a slightly larger version with a Cameroon wrapper. It looks like the Culebra Gorda should be here around early November.

Litto Gomez just added a new sizes to the potent La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro line. The DL-700 is the third size to be offered in the very full bodied Double Ligero Maduro line, taking its place next to the Chisel Maduro and Chiselito Maduro. Don't smoke these unless you've had a large meal, a pitcher of water with you, and your last will and testiment is up to date.

The new Litto Gomez Small Batch No. 2 is due out some time in September. The filler and binder are all Dominican grown on La Flor's farm. The wrapper is Sumatra Seed grown in the Dominican Republic. Litto personally goes over the selection process and picks only the best-of-the-best tobaccos for his Small Batch cigars. The new version's production is at 30,000 cigars coming in cabinets of 105. That means about 285 boxes available world wide.

When Litto Gomez of La Flor Dominicana told us he was going to make a second edition of the Limitado we asked him if he could set aside some so we could have a few extras after they were all gone. Well Litto took it a step further and set aside the finest cigars from each days batch. By the end of the rolling for the Limitado II Litto had set aside 1,000 cigars. These cigars sat in his humidor in the Dominican Republic for over a year. When the last boxes of original Limitado II's were shipped Litto asked what we wanted to do with the cigars he had set aside. There were no Limitado II boxes or bands left so we asked Litto to make up a special box of 20 original release Limitado II's. Litto personally packed and autographed the boxes. The result is an autographed box of 20 original production La Flor Dominicana Limitado II with over a year of age on them. We have 25 boxes of these and are offering both singles and boxes.

 Mr. Gomez worked with the Litto Gomez Diez blend to come up with a very special Limited Release of cigars. The filler and binder will still be from his farm in the Dominican Republic but this time he added a Sumatra-seed, dark Dominican wrapper that is absolutely stunning. Only 20,000 cigars were rolled and with 105 per box that means there is less than 200 boxes of these available. Litto Gomez Small Batch No. 1 comes un-cellophaned and sells for $16 per stick and $1510 for the box of 105.
